Sound passes through the gaps between the slats and is trapped by the felt, reducing echo and reverberation, while the slatted face creates the popular linear wood look. Panels cut with standard woodworking tools and can be fixed with construction adhesive (glue) and/or screws or nails through the felt backing into timber battens.
